A Productive Weekend
My parents were in town this past weekend to help get the rehersal dinner planned and to help out with wedding planning in general. The two finalists for the rehersal dinner heading into the weekend were The Spaghetti Warehouse and Schmidt's. And the winner is...Schmidt's!! The deciding factor was how their banquet room is set apart from the rest of the restaurant. If it's two things I like, it's privacy and spreading room. Schmidt's has both in spades!
On Saturday, Teri headed out with our moms for her appointment to get her wedding gown altered. Before that appointment, they went to DSW and Teri found her shoes for the wedding (and some comfy slippers). She also picked out the bridesmaid dress (you have to imagine that the pink sash is white and the rest of the dress is red). The ladies also found a pattern for the flower girl dresses, but the fabric store didn't have it in stock. It would be a bad idea to start making those dresses now anyway since the flower girls will only keep growing, so that's no big deal.
While Teri was up to that, I went to the tux store with our dads to get fitted for tuxes and set up the bridal party account (after the OSU game was finished). The vest/tie combo will be red (as shown in the link) for the groomsmen and ushers, black for our dads and white for me. Are you picking up on the red/black/white color theme for the wedding yet?
After all the shopping, we all rendezvoused at Donatos for pizza for dinner (which is when Mom thought it was necessary to call Melissa and give her the update on our schedule) and then headed back to Casa de Hudson for Cranium Wow and homemade apple crisp. Fun and delicous, respectively. If you haven't seen it yet, you truly are missing out on my mom's Tom Cruise impression. It's spot on.
On Sunday after church, we went to Macy's and my mom got the outfit she's going to wear to the wedding. I'd say we got a lot accomplished this weekend. Now if we could just have another weekend to recover from the weekend...

We were quite productive. If the rest of our planning goes as smoothly as it has, we'll be in good shape. Love you!
yeah thanks again for the donatos update :)
Dang, that IS a productive weekend!
I need some Cranium Wow in my life. I'm sure it's fab.
(Annie, on Mom's Google account...)
I would have went with the Spaghetti Warehouse. You can't go wrong with "Warehouse" or "Discount" in the title.
(side note: my verification word is "tranni")
Nice job with the planning. I like the tux choice - very stylish. And (even though it's not so important to me), I like the bridesmaids dresses.
Look at you two all planning so productively and smoothly. It makes me smile.
